You may have read in my last post that my hubby have prepared something for me for our first heart's day as Mr & Mrs. Now let me share to you what he got for me for that day

First present that he gave me was this flower.

I always tease him that during the 10 years of being together, I only got 4 flowers from him, 3 of them were all because I almost beg him to buy one for me. joke! hahaha. Actually, I am not really a fan of flowers but I think it's not also bad to sometimes receive one di ba? (Nakakahaba kaya ng buhok yun). Anyway, I thought that this was his only gift to me so right after he gave this to me, I gave all my gifts to him. Tsk tsk, wrong move.

After my gift, he went again to the box where he first got my first surprise. Then, he pull out something from there. And to my surprise, it was my second gift for the night!

I love teddy bears and color pink! Put them together, and you will make me super happy (^_^). Hubby really knew what I wanted and I got really pre-occupied with my new baby that I did not even bother to open the tin can where the bear was sitting. All the while, I thought it was empty since I knew he already prepared his gifts a week ago. But hey, the bear was not really the surprise. It was what was inside the tin can! He was very eager to open it and told me, "hindi mo ba bubuksan yung sa ilalim?" When he said that I knew that something was not right. "ano na naman tong kalokohanmo?" sabi ko na lang. But since he insisted, I got obliged to open it. And true enough, nagpasaway na naman si mister

tin can from Mister Donut. supposed to be donut laman nito. hehe

Eto na kalokohan nya!

The story behind this Dynamite candy started 10 years ago. It was when the time he was courting me and our friends asked me what do I want to receive from him. I told them it was chocolates, rather than flowers. Then, inasar nya na ko if pwede daw Dynamite na lang kasi may chocolate na din naman daw yun. Mahal daw kasi chocolate. Tsk tsk. pasaway di ba? Pero di nya naman tinotoo, not until today. He said he have waited 10 years just to give me those. When I saw what was inside the can, I really laughed hard. hahah.. never imagine that he will make an effort just to give me that prank, effort kung effort talaga!

After these, he once again asked me, "sa tingin mo wala na?" then I replied, oo, mukhang ok na naman." Then he said, "sure na sure ka na dyan?" which afterwards, he proceed again to the box where he put the flower, the bear and the Dynamite and pulled out again another tin can. This time it was his pambawi for his prank gift to me.

All in all, I really enjoyed my gifts from him. It was really full of fun when I started opening them one by one. The heart of a teenager is in me. Super kilig to the max! Thanks pangetski for the effort! Galing!

My epic-fail first valentine's day gift to hubby

Since this year will be our first valentine's day as a married couple, I planned to give my husband a surprise gift. Giving something that he will love is not that hard since he is always blatant on what gift he usually want to receive. Everything was perfect; I knew what he wanted but he don't know that I will really buy it for him. You see, everytime he is asking me to buy it for him, I usually say no since he still has so many unplayed games. (though I just told him that so he won't suspect that I'm going to buy him that) But that's just what I thought!

Last Friday, I went to the mall to get his present. Since, i thought that I could easily get the item, I didn't prepare for a plan B! Apparently, this will be my biggest mistake. tsk tsk. When I went to Datablitz, Shangri-la, the store didn't have the game that I am looking for (btw, I am looking for Metal Gear Solid 3 but later I found out that this was not the exact title he was asking me to buy for him. It was Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Collection). At that time, I didn't panic right away since there is still Datablitz in Megamall. But again, when I went there, the sales assistant told me that they don't have that game anymore. And that's when my blood came rushing to my head!!!

So what will I do??? This will be our first heart's day as hubby and wifey and I don't have any present for him. It makes me feel worse knowing he had already prepared something for me and here I am going home empty-handed! No, this can't be. I can't think of any alternative game that I could buy. I also intended to buy the February issue of FHM as an addition to his collection but I remembered that he already bought one. Then an idea came into my mind! My plan was to go back to old school technique.

So I rushed to National Bookstore to check out some cards where I could write a message for him. I also got a photoholder where I could put a picture of us. After that, I went straight to Fujifilm to have our pictures developed. Good thing, I have with me my flash drive where I put some of our pics together. Unfortunately, I have to wait for 1 hour just to have the pics and it's already past 7pm. I need to be home by 9, before hubby comes back from his work. So while waiting, I stayed in he foodcourt so I could start my letter writing so I don't need to write on it at home (multi-tasking at its finest or should I say cramming is the best policy). At exactly 8pm I got my gift for hubby! Oh, I almost forgot, I also got him his favorite chocolate!

Because this was really not my original gift for him, I told him not to expect too much because my mission to surprise him was a "super fail". However, when I gave him my present, he really loved it especially the card. He laughed at my message! After he finished reading, I told him that I will just make it up on him on our 10th year anniversary but he said that it was ok and he really appreciate my gift. Also, he felt really touched when I told him about how I went to the mall just to get him my surprise gift. He thought my effort was what really matters. How sweet right?

Anyway, here are my presents for him on our first heart's day!

My Sassy Girl : My First Movie for the L-O-V-E month

Disclaimer: I am not a movie expert and all my comments here are purely from personal thoughts only

It's February already and as we all know, love is in the air during this time of the year. Movies with love stories as its main plot will surely be a hit. Today, I will be starting my first try in expressing my sentiments over a movie. First on my list is the hit Korean Movie, My Sassy Girl. I watched this several times already. Last night, I bugged my husband to watch this together. After so much convincing, he finally gave in to my request (Next time, Full House series naman, wink(^_^))

My Sassy Girl is a romantic-comedy film that was directed by Kwak Jae-yong in 2001. It stars Cha Tae-hyun (Gyeon-woo) and Jun Ji-hyun (“The Girl”). Some said that this movie paved way to bigger opportunity for their career. BTW, I only identified the female protagonist as “The Girl” since I don’t think her name was mentioned in the film or am I wrong? Anyone correct me if I got this info wrong ok?

The movie is packed with mix of humorous & heartwarming scenes; as in too many of them to mention here. But to make this blog longer (joke), I have listed some of my favorite parts in the movie. This is in no particular order.

1. The Unlucky one

This is the scene when Gyeon-woo and the The Girl tried to play inside the train. The rule of their game was everytime a person stepped his or her left foot first outside the line, The girl will have the chance to slap Gyeon-woo and vice versa. The funny part here was when a group of soldiers marched inside the train. All the while, Gyeon-woo thought that he will win here and he will have the chance to slap her by the number of those soldiers. But he was wrong! When the soldiers are already near the line, they switched foot which makes their left foot stepped first on the line. As in, I laughed hard when I saw how his face looked like after he lost the game.

2. Gyeon-woo is a soon-to-be father?

This is about when The Girl visited Gyeo-woon in his school and pulls him out of class telling the teacher that Gyeon-woo is the father of her soon-to-be-aborted baby. This picture tells you what part of the scene I laughed the hardest.

3. The Shower – The Girl version

The girl is an aspiring scriptwriter. In the movie, there were 3 stories which she wrote that were shown. All of them have weird plots and one of them is the Shower. In this scene, she tried to create a wild perversion of the Sonagi - in which the Girl, having died, asks that her lover be buried along with her—even though he's still ALIVE. Weird, right?

4. Exchange shoes

This is so sweet! Imagine, a straight guy exchanging his sneakers with the high heels of her girlfriend because she can’t bear the pain it causes her. He'd rather be embarassed than let her love suffer.

5. 100^th day

On this day the girl asked Gyeon-woo to bring her a rose to celebrate their 100^th day together. This leads to a romantic scene where he arrives wearing a disguise in front of many people in an auditorium, where the Girl played the piano. For me, the mellow sound of the piano made this scene so romantic

6. Gyeon-woo’s 10 rules

It ‘s so heartwarming when Gyeon-woo, determined to let go of the Girl, has recited 10 rules that the guy must follow to make The Girl happy. This scene showed how Gyeon-woo have really understood and loved the Girl.

Here is the list of the 10 things Gyeon-woo said to the potential suitor of the Girl:

· Don't ask her to be feminine

· Don't let her drink over three glasses, she'll beat someone

· At a café, drink coffee instead of Coke or juice

· If she hits you, you act like it hurts. If it hurts, act like it doesn't

· On your 100th day, give her a rose during her class. She'll like it a lot

· Make sure you'll learn fencing and squash

· Also, be prepared to go prison sometimes

· If she says she'll kill you, don't take it lightly. You'll feel better

· If her feet hurts exchange shoes with her

· Finally, she likes to write, encourage her.

7. Hide-and-seek

I think all the movies that I watched where one runs after the other really moved me. In this scene, after her suitor recited the 10 rules Gyeon-woo told him, the girl abruptly leaves the restaurant to search for Gyeon-woo. She then went to the subway station and tried to find him thru the announcement booth of the station. And when Gyeon-woo finally saw the girl looking desperate just to find him, my heart really melted. Oh look at the man behind the Girl, he too was also moved by this scene.

8. The Farewell

The picture will says it all how much emotion this scene has=( It’s so sad that even they knew they love each other, they still have to part ways. It is because The Girl still have not move on from his past love and she knew that it is unfair for Gyeon-woo.

9. Revelation of the time capsule

This is so touching also since this is the time when Gyeon-woo will finally know the story of The Girl by reading her letter that they planted two years ago. Here is the content of the letter

Gyeon-woo! How are you? I was so happy while being with you. I’m not sure if you knew, but the person I loved passes away. The day when I first met you was the day he died a year ago. Actually, I tried to look for him in you. I know it was wrong. I’m sorry. I also met him on the subway like you. I was really sick at that time. He did everything I wanted like you did to me. Under this tree, we planned our future together. But he suddenly passes away. While I was dating you, I met his mother often. She wanted to introduce a nice man to me but I couldn’t. The day I first met you, I came under the tree and I prayed for him to let me free. When I met you, this occurred to me. That maybe, he introduced you to me. But the more I met you, he seemed to give jealous of you in me. The more I liked you, I felt guilty inside. While the two of us are apart, I want to forget him alone

Souvenir is something that guests will be going home with after the day has ended. It will serve them as a reminder that they have been part of our day so I want it to be special and unique. When I asked for suggestions, my brother thought of ref magnet and I like it.

Ms. Edicel was a W@W find. At first, I thought that Lucky Charmz only caters for those who are looking for cake toppers. Apparently I was wrong. In fact, aside from cake toppers, they also accepts orders for photoframe/photoholders with clay designs, ref magnets or even wedding paraphernalia such as candles, cords, etc. When I checked her page, I was amused with her works because they are cute and adorable. Her rates are also affordable compared to other clay artists. I’ve said this since before I talked to Ms. Edicel, I tried to scout IG sellers and their prevailing selling price is around 60 to 90 pesos; I got mine for 45 pesos. Big difference right?

Ms. Edicel is very kind during detailing. She is patient with my unending questions and revisions of the designs. She did not show any “pagkainis” towards me. Instead she patiently answered my inquiries even some of them, I think, were discussed to me from our previous conversations. The actual items are all pretty and were in good condition when delivered to us. The packaging of the items was neatly done and presentable enough to be given to our guests. We also got additional 2 extra magnets, which however we do not know if it is intentional or not. Thanks anyway for that.

She is also true to her words about the delivery time of the items. We did not have problems on late production or late deliveries. We made our full payment on Oct 6, she sent them on Oct 8 and we have our souvenirs by Oct 10, I think.

The major problem that I encountered with her is that I had a very hard time contacting her during our detailing. I think she had signal problems back then so she doesn’t reply immediately to my inquiries. Her laptop also broke down, according to her, so she was obliged to rent a pc just to see her messages in FB. It gave me a little stress during that tme since I already paid my DP with her. Good thing is that she made bawi to me. Another issue we had was the wrong name of one of the supplier in our supplier’s tokens (from Cybersounds, it became Cybersound only). We found that error too late already so we did not bother to tell her since we may not have time if we will ask for replacement. Anyway, we just apologized to our lights and sounds supplier for that error. But even if we experienced some glitches with them, I still recommend Ms. Edicel and her Lucky Charmz Shop. When you get her, I am sure that you will get quality souvenirs for your guests without breaking your bank.

Last January 30, I received my first ever package where my married name was used as the addressee. Kinilig ako when I first saw it. Wow, I am truly a married woman. Nyahaha. Medyo weird pala no, pag first time mong nakita na iba na apelyido mo? Right girls? Ok, so what did I receive? Secret muna..hehhehe.Just kidding. Medyo papahabain ko muna yung post ko bago ko ireveal so steady lang muna kayo dyan.

Freebies! Discounts! Woaaah, I really love them! Well, I mean, who doesn’t? Right? In fact, everytime we go to the supermarket, freebies from buying specific item are what I am after for. I also get easily lured when someone offers me sulit or discount cards. Actually, I have this collection of store cards: mapa-suki , discount or cash cards pa yan, I think I have most of them. You name it, I might have it. That’s why when I came across the Everyday Me website which btw is brought by Procter and Gamble, I got really interested.

So what is Everyday Me? According to its website , “EverydayMe is an online platform created by Procter & Gamble, a company that has been establishing brands for the past 175 years, helping people around the world have an extraordinary every day” . It is an online community that caters to ladies or moms by providing tips on beauty, health and lifestyle. This website allows all women to have access to new ideas and inspirations that they can use for their everyday living. The more exciting part of it is that it also offers discounts and freebies once you became part of the community. Good deal right?

Anyway, it says that just by signing up with the website, you will receive a welcome kit that contains membership card with exclusive discounts coupons for FREE. So last January 21, I signed up in the website and afterwards received a confirmation email coming from P&G.

So eto na nga yung nareceive ko. After 9 days after signing up, I received an addition to my card

collection. My lovely pink card! It was delivered to our house together with some discount coupons. This membership card, I think, can be used when purchasing products from their partner establishments and feature products. Though right now, I don’t have any idea on the establishments that accepts this, I’m still looking forward to use it.
