The artistic side of me

March 27, 2015

Being artistic was far from what I imagined myself to be. In fact, art and I never became friends.hahaha.. I remember during my art class in elementary, I always end up re-doing my projects all over again because the end product looks like waste. "Promise, feeling ko ikakabagsak ko anything about arts."

But that perspective changed. Though I still lack the talent to create beautiful masterpieces, I suddenly got the urge to do some artistic stuff. You asked me why? Well, honestly I don't know. All I know is that I got fascinated with all the DIYs of some of the bloggers I've been following. In short nainggit ako!

Anyway, here are some of my works. I know these are from an amateur artist only (actually, yung iba ata pambatang gawa pa). But I am proud of what I have accomplished so far. I'll just need to practice more (as in super MORE!) to be able to have more beautiful pieces to share with you.

1. Lettering : Ever since, my friends always tell me that I have a beautiful penmanship so I am the one always assigned to create visual aids during our class reportings ( uso pa manila paper/cartolina nun). Now, i want to improve more on this craft, but this time, I want to do calligraphy. Unfortunately, I don't have the right pens yet for that (or nibs as they call it) so For now, have to settle with my gel pens..hahahha

I finished this while I was waiting for a friend so I won't get bored.
Yey, hubby got me new set of pens!
With my pink gel pen
My birthday post!

2. Cross stitch : Did you know that this is my first time to finish a pattern? Yes, that's true! That is why I felt accomplished the moment I saw my finished work. Super heaven ang feeling.hahaha.  I plan to make more of these and put them in frame so they can serve as decorations in our house.
Because this was my first time to do this, i was not able to put the design in the middle.hahaha
i just added our name and the date I finished it so it could somehow be in the center.

Aside from these two, I also intend to go back to crocheting. I plan to do some table and tv covers for our room. Hay, I can't wait to grab those yarns to start with these DIY projects of mine before I change my mind!..hahaha

  14. You're doing good in lettering. Practice more and you'll have a great outcome in there. They say I have a good handwriting but I've never been good in lettering. Cross stitching was my favorite hobby before. I had one unfinished one, I hope when I go back to the Philippines I'll be able to finish it.
